Maternity Protection Scheme under the National Rural Health Mission of the Central Government has been implemented in the state since 2005-06 . It has been implemented with the aim of encouraging skilled personnel like doctors and nurses to deliver babies in health facilities, thereby reducing maternal and neonatal mortality rates . The scheme has been launched . This scheme is 100 percent sponsored by the Central Government . Through this scheme, women below the poverty line should be able to take care of themselves during the prenatal and postpartum periods . For this, financial assistance is provided . Which will make it possible for them to give birth in an institution ( maternity home ) .
Eligibility of beneficiaries and benefits available under the scheme
- The said pregnant woman belongs to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe and lives in rural areas below poverty line. Should be . Registration letter or ration card issued for the family below the poverty line will have to be submitted . If the said document is not available, the certificate issued by the concerned Tehsildar or Talathi or the concerned Gram Panchayat will be accepted .
- The woman must be 19 years of age or older .
- The benefit of this scheme will continue up to the first two children .
- A pregnant woman should register at a health center before 12 weeks .
- You should have regular check-ups at the health center five times during pregnancy .
- While registering pregnant mothers, the mother should fill out the Child Care Card and the Janani Suraksha Yojana card and submit it with the mother .
- If a pregnant mother goes to her maternal home or any other place for delivery, if she presents the Janani Suraksha Yojana card, she will be given the Janani Suraksha Yojana grant through a cheque immediately . This will be noted on the Janani Suraksha Card . There will be no area criteria in it .
- Pregnant mothers who have delivered at home will be given Rs . 500 /- online within 7 days of delivery .
- Pregnant mothers who have given birth in a government health institution will be required to pay Rs . 600 /- for urban areas and Rs . 700 /- for rural areas online .
- After delivery in a government health institution, the woman will be encouraged to remain hospitalized in the hospital for at least 48 hours, and during this period, the health of the mother and the child will be examined, treated and cared for by medical officers .
- In accredited hospitals of accredited private medical professionals and NGOs
- The benefits of the Janani Suraksha Yojana are provided to eligible beneficiaries of the deliveries through the nearest government health institution .
1500 / – will be paid to the specialist medical officer in the government hospital for providing their services or a subsidy of Rs . 1500 / – will be paid to the private hospital if the surgery is done in a private hospital . Also, delivery in a certified / nominated maternity hospital If so, the above grant will remain payable to that institution .
